It's been a long time since I went on MCP exam. I've been pretty busy these days but now is time to update my certification. Let's start with MS SQL Server 2008 exams. The best thing is these exams on beta stage now so this is a chance to be certified one idea before official release (or at least when the exams are released).

Gerry O'Brien posted an open invitation for two MS SQL beta exams that are extended to July 31, 2008 so hurry up.

The exams are:

• 71-432: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance
• 71-448: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance

NB: You need promo codes in order to register for these exams. These codes can be found on Gerry's blog post.

P.S. Note that you won't get exams results on exam completion as the criteria /scoring/ is not clear :). Setting scores is one of the goals of beta exams. Results will be announced in about 2 months from the end of beta period or around  exam release date.

This exam along with my MCSD.NET credentials and Exam 70-548 PRO: Designing and Developing Windows-Based Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework made me Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): Windows Developer

I described this because with MS new certification generation it is difficult to track all possible ways to achieve certain credentials

First results from .NET 2.0 certification exams are out. They say I passed the following exams:

071-548: PRO: Designing and Developing Microsoft® Windows®-Based Applications by Using the Microsoft .NET Framework
and
071-549: PRO: Designing and Developing Enterprise Applications by Using the Microsoft® .NET Framework

I am expecting results from UPGRADE exams: 071-554 and 071-553

Well

I had very hard three weeks with new generation certifications. I received promo codes for beta exams for .NET 2.0 and I was eager to schedule and attend them.

I made a simple calculation that says for period Sept 2001 – January 2006 I took 8 exams and I earned three certifications:

MCP

MCSD for VS 6.0  (which is old now)

MCAD

MCSD for VS .NET ( 2003 )

For last three weeks I was very very active as I went on 4 exams J

There is one more dev exam I could attend but I am very exhausted.

These exams have been different that I expected but whatever… I am existed and I am looking forward to three relaxing days in Chepelare. I will post pictures when we are back here. I hope we wont have problems with traveling in deep snow and we will beck on time J

I am very busy lately and this is why I succeeded in scheluding the last (and on of easiest) exam for MCSD.NET so lately.

I planed to take it in begining of year but... you know... NOT (not of time) problem.

I placed new goals ahead

• MCDBA for SQL server 2005 - luckuly there are not exams yet
• MVP program - I am thinking about become MVP - it is relatively new and it is vary valuable in employers' eyes

I have finally found time to prepare for exam 070-320 Developing XML Web Services and Server Components with MS C# .NET and the MS .NET Framework. I got this exam and I am MCAD.NET
I need one more (very easy for me ) exam for MCSD.NET - it is 70-305: Developing and Implementing Web Applications with MS VB® .NET and MS Visual Studio® .NET that I am going to get it in begining of year 2005.
